Chartered accountant and auditor, Corrado Santini fits into the world of financial investments after graduating in Economics at Universit degli Studi di Parma and after attending MBA at Insead, the prestigious School of Business in Fontainebleau. His professional career began in Cie (forfaiting house), where He stayed for 3 years. In 1998 He was called to lead the project finance activities of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria for Italy: in the 9 years of collaboration Corrado Santini had the opportunity to experience and manage operations in various area, particularly in the fields of transport infrastructure, hospitals and real estate. Those years where useful for him to improve a range of skills in infrastructure sector, a prelude to his entrance in 2007 in F2i – Fondi Italiani per le Infrastrutture as a Senior Partner. Founded in 2007 and led by Vito Gamberale, F2i SGR S.p.A., an acronym for Fondi Italiani per le Infrastrutture, is registered under number 247 at the Bank of Italy. The same year in August, the first fund was launched to enable investments in the infrastructure area and it ended with a total collection of 1,852 million of euro. The proceeds were used for major acquisitions in different areas, including significant shares of Infracis (highway), Mediterranea delle Acque (water), Gesac and SEA (airport) and Metroweb (telecommunications). In 2012 a new fund was launched, the collection of which is still active, that encouraged investment in other areas, such as Waste-to Energy (acquisition of 80% of TRM), and other consolidations (new share of SEA – Aeroporti di Milano S.p.A.).
